Kipling and Kennedy voters will go to the polls on Civic Election Day, October 25.
Kipling will have elections both for mayor and for council, following close of nominations Wednesday.

Kipling School was host to the Saskatchewan High School (SHSAA) senior sand greens provincial golf championship Friday and Saturday of last week.
The boys’ Gold Medallist in the Provincial Sand Greens golf championship was Jordan Hegglin of Strasbourg. Presenting the medal is Mark Edmonds of Kipling, Section 2 representative for the SHSAA.

On September 23rd the City of Brandon, Manitoba hosted the 12th Edition of the Communities in Bloom National Awards Ceremony, honouring municipalities from Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program.
Weathering, flooding, and frost were the main sources of crop damage during the past week. In addition, migratory waterfowl resulted in some crop damage. Crop reporters also raised concerns with sprouting and bleaching of crops, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food’s weekly crop report.
Saskatchewan farmers have harvested 92 per cent of the 2006 crop, up from last week’s total of 91 per cent. Last year, at this time, only 53 per cent of the crop had been harvested. The five-year average (2001-2005) is 63 per cent harvested.
Kingswood Golf’s second annual Farmers Tournament was held at Kipling, Sept. 23.
The opening nine holes were played at full length, in a texas scramble format.
The Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association (SWNA) is pleased to introduce four exceptional Saskatchewan youth as 2006 Saskatchewan Junior Citizen of the Year Award recipients: Adila Azizi of Regina, Robert Marshall of Indian Head, Christa Bruneau of Willow Bunch, and Kathryn Kitchen of Estevan.
The Junior Citizen of the Year Awards were created in 1976 to recognize Sask-atchewan residents between the ages of eight and 18 for their positive life-styles, community and school spirit, as well as a strong sense of caring and responsibility. To date, 158 individuals have received this prestigious award.
