Hats off to all involved in making Saskatchewan’s Biggest Housewarming Party, Ever, a memorable event for all concerned. It was not without its glitches, of course, as can be easily understood when such a monumental undertaking is arranged in just a few short weeks. But all in all, it was a wonderful weekend and all who had a part in making it so, should be proud. The old saying, “and a good time was had by all,” was perhaps never more apropos.
Among the aforementioned contributors was the Kipling Ministerial Association, whose non-denominational worship service on Main St. was, as reports used to put it, “was largely attended”. With participation from each and every congregation in town and many from afar, it could more aptly have been called “multi-denominational”. The music (and there was lots of it) was wonderful, led capably by Don Toth and accompanied by Lois Toth, along with Alex Runions. Special thanks to the Ministerial for its cooperation and participation in the official housewarming program as well. There are, by the way, plenty of these still available at The Citizen.
Earlier this week, a sizeable portion of the lawn at the Kipling RCMP detachment was noticed to have been disturbed in some fashion. A ring of grass about two feet wide and 20 feet in diameter is bent over, bearing some resemblance to the crop circles we read about. Unfortunately, The Citizen’s helicopter is on back order, so no suitable photo could be taken of the odd ring. But coming hard on the heels of such a huge celebration in town, there are only two possible explanations: it has to be either a paranormal phenomenon or a mark left by an alien spaceship.
Finally, welcome to Kyle and Dom, and congratulations. It was such a pleasure to meet some of your family members on the weekend. They even stopped in to help assemble programs Thursday evening, when the rush to get finished was on. Thank you. Merci.
