• The ruling federal Conservatives’ constantly referring to themselves as “Canada’s New Government” has an eery ring to it.
It somehow brings to mind a book which 40 or 50 years ago was required reading. The book, “1984″, was a look into the (then) future at which time the citizenry’s every move would be under scrutiny. “Big Brother is watching” was the phrase then, as I recall, and the underlying theme was that the characters could trust virtually noone. Hmmm.
