It’s rainy season, snows here and then gone season, cold and flu season but it’s my all time personal favorite time of year! It’s not summer time anymore and has barely reached the winter’s frost, but somewhere in between, the fall manages to portray such a natural beauty with so many hues of oranges and browns. A photographer’s dream!
Fall is my ultimate favorite season because there is nothing better than going home after a long day at the office and sipping on a hot cup of Apple Cider snuggling up with my offspring and a fuzzy warm blanket with the remote in hand!
This year, however, I have to be honest…. I am a T.V. junkie! This year there are so many new programs (and good ones in my opinion) that have somehow managed to catch my attention, which is quite odd considering that I wasn’t ever really a fan of T.V.!
I have set up a new office in my chair that is placed close to the T.V. and with laptop on (pardon the pun) my ‘laptop’, I proceed to work during the five minute commercial breaks. I know the rule of homework first-T.V. later, but I work better with distraction (that’s what I tell myself)!
For whatever insane reason, the house seems to stay really clean throughout this particular season too, unlike the summer when we treat our home more like a drop-in centre, rather than a home! I think that by spending more time inside of the homestead, I am under a tad bit more pressure to maintain the housework, which keeps me off of the chair with a duster in hand rather than the remote….
Never mind spring-cleaning, after the summer leaves us and the days are a little too cold to spend every waking moment outdoors, fall cleaning takes place for this family, that’s when the boxes of ‘home-party’ items are found and I have some explaining to do!
And whatever happened to making leaf piles and jumping in and out of them without the thoughts of spiders and their fellow bug friends?! Some of the kids today, look at me with disgust wondering why anyone would ponder up that kind of idea (’jumping through something we put into garbage bags’). Does anyone still do this?! I would as long as no one had a camera on hand!
Away with the sandals and on with the socks (yuk!), put away the tank tops and shorts and pull out those saggy bottom long-johns…. Fall is here to stay!
