The senior golf team representing Kipling School won bronze medals at the SHSAA Sand Greens Golf Championships held at Windthorst on the weekend. Kipling School was host to the Saskatchewan High School (SHSAA) senior sand greens provincial golf championship Friday and Saturday of last week.

The event was held at Windthorst Country Club.

Nine schools were in the team competition, with several other schools represented by individual golfers.

The team from Canwood High School won the gold medals, with a 36-hole score of 610.

Bert Fox High School from Fort Qu’Appelle carded a 619 to win silver, while Kipling’s 628 earned them the bronze medals.

The four best scores on each hole were used to determine team totals.

Two Windthorst (Kipling School) golfers earned medals in the boys’ individual competition.

Kent Larsen captured the silver with a score of 141. Trevor Kuntz carded a 142 to tie for third with Jessie Mysiorek of Bert Fox High School.

Jordan Hegglin of Strasbourg won the boys’ gold medal with a two-day total of 137.

In the girls’ competition, Abra Thompson of Can-wood’s 160 earned her the gold medal.

Kathryn Manson of Dinsmore took the silver with 173 and the bronze went to Maddie Lucyk of Bert Fox, with 174.

Dinsmore placed fourth in the team scoring with 631, followed by Raymore at 639, Frontier at 676, H. Hardcastle School (Edam) at 703, Fillmore at 709 and Bengough with 733.
