Kipling Mayor Patricia Jackson went down to defeat in Wednesday’s civic elections at Kipling, after one term in office.
Voters elected Kevin Hassler, a financial consultant, who polled 208 votes to Jackson’s 186, according to unofficial results obtained Wednesday evening.
Vote counts are not considered official until 10 a.m. the morning following the vote.
In balloting for the Town’s six aldermanic seats, the four incumbents seeking re-election were returned, in fact earning the top four vote counts.
Co-op manager Darren Szakacs topped the polls with 297 votes, followed closely by auto body technician Kevin Kish with 294. Duane Leicht received 280 votes and business owner Mark Olson won the support of 268 electors.
The two new faces on Council will be pork technician Glenn Kuhn, who earned 260 votes, and lumber manager Max Krecsy, who took the final seat with 235.
Business owner Susan Kearns and teacher Rod Holowaty failed in their Council bids, with 223 and 175 votes, respectively.
