Students of Kipling School proved to be a success at the Regional Science Fair held in Fillmore, with many of the projects bringing home medals and awards. All the hard work and effort seemed to pay off when the day was done.
This year’s local winning projects in the Junior category were: Nicole Levey and Darylanne Hamelin “Two Minds - One Brain” who received bronze in the physical category. Susan Fisher’s “Insulator or Conductor” project brought home a bronze as well, in the physical science category.
At the intermediate level Rebecca Windjack and Ashley Hengen’s project “Energy Supplements” earned a silver and Alyssa Luscombe’s “Baby Babble” won a bronze in the life science category.
“Crystal Clear Sound” by Katherine McCarthy took the gold in the physical science category as well as Sara Fisher and Kayla King’s project “Keeping Unwanted Animals Away” taking the gold in the Engineering Category.
At the senior level Travis Kish and Jeremy Larson earned the bronze in the physical science category for their project “EV’s”.
In addition to the category results, Sara Fisher and Kayla King’s project won best overall intermediate project, the Science Showcase Award (Science Centre in Regina), Wheatland Accounting Award placing them third overall and the Sask. Outdoor Environmental Ed. Assoc. Award.
