On March 29 Kennedy will hold its first ever spring trade show. The trade show, which is free to attend, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kennedy Hall.

Daniele Bourhis, vice-president of the Kennedy Hall board, got the idea to put on the event from a friend. “I had a friend suggest it to me,” said Bourhis. “She is just starting a new home-based business. I thought, I’m on the board so I can bring it to the board and just do it.”

Many trade shows in the area tend to be held during the fall, when people are just getting started with their Christmas shopping. The hall board thought spring would be the perfect time to put on the trade show because winter is nearing an end, it’s getting warmer out, and therefore people want to get out of the house.

“We’re hoping that everyone in the area comes,” said Bourhis. “We’re hoping for 20 tables, anything more is a bonus. We’re hoping for a good turnout so we can make it an annual event and we hope that this will turn out to be a good forum to showcase our local home-based businesses.”

There are many home-based businesses in the area. “There’s Tupperware, Arbonne, Tasty Tidbits, Pampered Chef…there’s also lots of people who do crafts,” said Bourhis. Anybody wishing to host a table at the trade show can contact Daniele Bourhis at 736-8461. Tables cost $10, which is fairly cheap for a trade show. Lunch will also be available.

For anyone attending, there is a lot to look forward to. Vendors setting up at the trade show include PartyLite, Pampered Chef, Tasty Tidbits, Tupperware, Designer Knock-off Purses, Beaded Jewelry, and Health Therapy Machines. A few ladies also plan to set up tables with quilts, baking, and assorted crafts.
