Six Escaped inmates from Regina Correctional Centre, four remain at large

At approximately 9:41 p.m. on Sunday, August 24th, 2008, six inmates escaped from the Regina Provincial Correctional Centre. Four inmates remain at large as the sixth inmate was apprehended before midnight on August 25th.

The four male adult inmates still at large are considered dangerous and possibly armed.

Since the time of the reported escape, RCMP Regina Detachment members have been working with municipal and national police law enforcement organizations and government agencies.  Canada Wide Warrants have been issued for the four inmates. Canadian Border Services Agency as well as American law enforcement agencies have been advised and made aware of the warrants and the descriptions of the individuals being sought.  In addition to information being added to police databases, photographs of the inmates and their physical descriptions have been distributed. The Regina Provincial Correctional Centre is currently in lockdown and there are no injuries to staff or inmates.

The matter remains under investigation by RCMP Regina Detachment, General Investigation Section, in co-operation with Regina Police Service and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing.

Photos of the 5 escaped inmates are attached. Attempts may have been made to alter their appearance, cover or obscure identifying tattoos.

Anyone with information on the escaped inmates are asked to call the RCMP Regina Detachment at 780-5560, their local police, or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) through SaskTel Mobility network at *8477 or submit a tip online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com where you can also view information on other unsolved crimes. Crime Stoppers is anonymous and does not subscribe to call display and calls are not traced or recorded.
