The new year for the Kipling Friendship Club began April 1st and the memberships for the coming season are available at $10 per person. The club is open to all seniors in the town and surrounding area and we encourage all to come out and enjoy the fellowship of other seniors.
Monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday at 10a.m.
The club was formed in 1972 with the present facility built in 1981 and the addition in 1987. At the time the center was built, there were 81 members, and the club was very active. Among their many activities, bus tours were taken across the province and visitations were made to other clubs in the area.
Health clinics are held at the Centre Wednesday afternoons from 1-4p.m. For appointments, phone Pat Daku. The Centre is also available for rent. Contact President John Sanford.
You will find members at the Centre each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoon. Thursday is Friendship Day, beginning at 1:00 p.m. for those who love to play rummy or at 1:30p.m. for those who enjoy other games such as whist.
We have a pool table and a shuffleboard that needs to be used. In years past, bridge was played on Wednesdays - it would be great to have enough bridge players come out to start bridge again.
We are open to suggestions and different ideas. For any newcomers to our area, or residents who haven’t as yet become involved, check us out - we’d love to see you and you will be most welcomed.
