For more information and/or to register, call Chris Toth at 736-2668.

Clean Air Day is a celebration of environmentally friendly activities that promote clean air and good health across Canada. It is a great opportunity to make environmentally friendly lifestyle choices, for you, your family and your community. Celebrate Clean Air Day on Wednesday, June 4th! One way to do that is join the Commuter Challenge. Commuter Challenge is a national program that encourages Canadians to walk, cycle, take transit, carpool or tele-work instead of driving alone to work. The Challenge supports workplaces as they encourage their employees to leave their cars at home for their personal health, the health of their communities and the health of the environment. Individual Canadians can participate too. In 2007, 38,784 Canadians in over 170 communities and 1,757 workplaces gave a voice to their sustainable transportation choices by registering with the Commuter Challenge. For more information on the Commuter Challenge, visit www.commuterchallenge.ca

If you missed the Swimming Pool Lessons Registration Night at the Kipling School, there is still an opportunity to register your child this summer. Call or drop in at the Kipling Swimming Pool for a registration form 736-2707. Swimming Lessons will be scheduled in the following sessions: July 7-18, July 21-August 1, August 4-15. Season Passes will be available at a discount rate before June 9th. After June 9th, full rates will be in effect.

Anyone requiring a campsite at any time during the 2008 season is encouraged to call the Rec. Office (736-8440) to reserve their site, as many campsites have been reserved so far this season. Prices in effect for the 2008 season remain as in past years: $20/night full service, $15/night electrical, $6/tent (no services); $300/month full service, $200/month electrical. All campers are reminded that reserved sites take precedent over anyone else - please check the list in the campground (or call 736-8440) before pulling into a site. There will be no openings for local campers during July 3, 4, and 5, due to the 2008 SBA Twiliters Maxi Tournament hosted in Kipling and Windthorst. All sites are reserved for teams competing in the tournament. Currently, Kipling Parks and Recreation is upgrading some sites in the campground - we apologize for any inconveniences during this time.

Call for Volunteers . . . Communities In Bloom Committee is looking for assistance with the spring planting of the community flowerbeds - if you have an interest in the project and a couple of hours to spare, call the Rec Office at 736-8440 or Joanne O’Sullivan at 736-8211.
