The future is here

To the Editor:

In October, Saskatchewan experienced its lowest unemployment rate sine 1979. We have the second lowest unemployment rate in Canada, at 3.3%. With a strong economy and a healthy social fabric, Saskatchewan has emerged as the best place in the country to live, work and raise a family.

Due to the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of Saskatchewan people, there were 21,800 more jobs in October 2006 than the year before. This includes 8,000 more jobs for young people and more full time jobs.

Only Saskatchewan and Alberta are poised to have economic growth above the national average for five years in a row. Saskatchewan is one of three “have” provinces, along with Alberta and Ontario, and we intend to stay that way.

We are building a strong economy and a bright future for Saskatchewan families. Today there are more people working in Saskatchewan than ever before. The people of this province are to be commended.

These statistics tell us one thing: there is a future for Saskatchewan’s young people, and it is right here, at home.
