To parents and ratepayers
of the Kennedy-Langbank school area:
Last Thursday our school received a wake-up call via a letter that placed our school on a review list that could mean a grade reduction or possible closure. Since that letter it appears to me that most students and parents within our school boundaries are talking about where they will be going to school next year.
PEOPLE - that is exactly what our high priced officials want us to talk about. We do have a school of 100 students, 32 students higher than the next school in review. We do have some classrooms with less than the required amount of students, but we also have a graduating class of 14 students coming up next year. I believe we have some of the best teachers in the division and I also say from experience that my children in universities have done very well thanks to the education they received in our little school. We have many good cases as to why our school should not be closed at this time, but we have got to change our attitude and stand up and be heard!
