Dear Editor:
Your column on December 22nd/06 was timely. You talked about Kipling moving on after the ‘paper clip’ story has worn itself out.
Here are a few suggestions to keep the town on the map.
Make Kipling the wedding capital of Canada. ‘Get married in a barn and put farming back on its feet’. Endless possibilities.
Build a flat ski-hill - the only one in the world. Build it and they will come.
Build a house and raffle it across Canada. The winners are assured of employment, building the next house.
Turn a large (dry) slough into Lake Kipling and build a holiday camp for adults. Call it Kipling Club Med. (It could be next to Kipling ski hill.)
And if you really want to help the environment, build a wind turbine to provide power for the community.
Good Luck!
