Hi folks! The housewarming party was a great event, congratulations to all who worked so hard to get this project underway and continued all the way through, reminds me of something I read not too long ago, “Time is a sort of passing events, and strong is its current: no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away” I look forward to hearing about the next event taking place in Kipling. I know one will be continue raising money for the second phase of the health center, which reminds me Kennedy does have a beautiful quilt which we are selling tickets on, for the purpose of the hospital, this will be drawn 13 of October. So you know what, get your names in, besides there will be a set of Kings flannel sheets and a lovely hamper. All for less than $2.00 (pay as you pull).
Brenda Rupert of Regina called on the Cancades last Wednesday, she is back in University this week. By the way I hope all the first year university students are getting adjusted to being away from home.

The Stephen boys of Regina were visitors with Earl and Margaret Debenham last Monday, also Pat and Jack Smith from Ontario stopped in on Thursday. They were on their way home from Alaska, and had been gone since June first. They also visited with Don and Carol Smith.
August 26 weekend, Thomas and Ashley King stayed the Saturday night with their grandparents Earl and Margaret Debenham. The highlight was combining with Uncle Larry , Grandpa and Uncle Don. Another highlight was the picnic in the field with the men and Auntie Jill, Jeremy, and Caitlyn Green of Lampman, aunt Yvonne and Grandma Margaret. Austin and Bradley Green joined for playtime a bit later in the day. Jason and Cindy, Laurie and Colin came in the evening. All returned home that night. Aileen Smalley enjoyed her time with Don Debenham again during the harvest season. This is always a special time of year for them.
The little bit about the picnic lunches in the field, it takes me back to my childhood days, my children and then in later years the neighbors children, especially Brad and Nicole Gervais and the Rupert children.
A special note from the History book committee of Kennedy, we will be closing off from collecting the information to be received for this project as of September 15. Please advise one of us of any errors. Not everyone received the second print out. But it can be read at the following homes: Margaret Debenham, Yvonne Bertalon, Mary Hewson. The book should be larger then the first one with a lot more pictures. Hopefully the book will be ready for Christmas. The final cost will depend on how many books are ordered, and we are asking for a deposit of $70.00 to be given to the treasurer Yvonne Bertalon, Box 212, Kennedy Sask. SOG 2RO. (This is necessary in order to make printing possible)
I have a great number of cook books and when this part of the news comes along, some days it is search time. Have one that was published in the 4H, 80th anniversary 1917-1997 and was submitted by Adrienne Worley who was a member of the Trail Blazer’s Club.
