Inspection and Awards Night for Montmartre Cadets

Annual Inspection for the 2988 Montmartre Army Cadet Corp. was conducted Wednesday, May 14, 2008 in the Montmartre School Gymnasium.

Reviewing Officer for the evening was Bill Mathews. Also attending the ceremonies for the evening was Capt. Judy Parsons, PO2 John Mulready and Sgt. Norm Melanson. The Review was followed by inspection, cadet displays, marksmanship display and a potluck supper.

Speeches by Don Toth, MLA, Reviewing Officer Bill Mathews, and 2LT. Robert Giroux (shooting coach) and awards ceremony followed honoring several cadets for the year’s achievements. These included: Best Green Star - Pt. Sara Balog, Best Red Star - Cpl. Blake Lockert, Best Silver Star - M.Cpl. Josh Adams, Best Gold Star - W.O. Daniel Lyons,

Most Improved Cadet - Cpl. Justin Krahenbil, Top Cadet - M.W.O. Travis Kish, Espirit de Corp. - Cpl. Ryan Bluecloud,

Most Improved Shot - Cpl. Peter Dayman, Best Shot - M.W.O. Travis Kish.

Capt. Cathy Waller received a certificate for her 25 years of service with the 2988 Montmartre Army Cadet Corp.

Montmartre Legion also made a donation of $500.00 to the Montmartre Army Cadets.
