Montmartre Co-operative has announced to its members that its Glenavon branch will close on January 20, 2007.
The Co-op operates one of two grocery stores in the community. Groceries will continue to be stocked through the holiday season.
A letter distributed to members states “deteriorating operating results proved it to be no longer feasible” to keep the Glenavon store open.
Written tenders will be accepted on the building, either with or without the gas pumps.
