The race to launch Kipling Film Productions Inc. as a partner in an upcoming movie production is slow out of the starting gate.
Sources say the campaign to date has raised just over one-quarter of the $400,000 needed for KFP to become a full partner in producing 3 Day Test, the movie to be filmed here.
At least half of the total will be required for the project to proceed, and in order for the movie to be released in time for Christmas of 2007, the money will have to be forthcoming in a matter of weeks, or even days.
Dozens of investors (considered friends, family or business associates of any member of the board) have obtained shares to date. However, it is apparent that the average amount each is prepared to risk has been lower than anticipated.
A further undisclosed number of shares have been spoken for, but even these would leave KFP short its financial objective, sources say. Organizers remain optimistic, but time is running short. The Board and shareholders will meet Jan.17 to assess the situation with KFP Lawyer (This is not a public meeting).
Family, friends and close business associates of any member of the Board are eligible to become shareholders in Kipling Film Productions Inc.
