Grossman, district governor for Lions District 5CE, urged club members to take the effort to learn what Lionism is about.
He cited Lions’ involvement in sight-related projects such as the Lions Eye Bank, SightFirst and SightFirstII and the support for the CNIB as being major beneficiaries of Lionism, but also mentioned that Lions are involved in numerous other projects at the local, national and international level.
“The world is full of people in need,” Grossman said. “It is also full of people who are doing something about it. That is Lionism.”
He also said members should derive fun, fellowship and satisfaction from being a part of the Lions.
D.G. Grossman was thanked for his inspiring words by Kipling Lion Lorne Olver, who will succeed him as district governor.
He then presided over a ceremony recognizing five Kipling Lions with Lions with Lions Foundation of Canada Life Memberships. These were Glen McCarthy, Michael Kearns, Brian Manns, Teena Manns and Kevin Cheyne.
Following the supper and program, several of the Lions enjoyed an evening of dancing, along with the Kipling Winter Dance Club. The Olson’s provided the live music.
