The Saskatchewan Waste Electronic Program (SWEEP) is celebrating a very successful first year of operation. Since SWEEP’s inception last February 1st, more than three million pounds of waste electronics have been collected and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
In the past year, SWEEP has collected 32000 Computers, 22500 Printers, 46500 Keyboards and Mice, 1000 Laptops, 40000 Monitors, and 15500 Televisions.
SWEEP is a non-profit corporation established by manufacturers, retailers, and other stakeholders to collect and dispose of waste computers, printers, and televisions. The program is funded by Environmental Handling Fees paid on the purchase of new electronic equipment. Thank you to anyone who contributed to this on-going clean up effort.
Just a reminder that we have Helping Hands available at both SARCAN and Kipling Industries if you would like to show your support for Telemiracle. The clients of Kipling Industries have challenged the SARCAN workers to se who can sell the most helping hands. The hands are on sale until the end of February, so we have another month of fun rivalry ahead.
