Sometime during the weekend of May 3rd and 4th, the Redvers Activity Centre’s greenhouse was vandalized. Vandals threw a rock into the side of the plastic canvas wall, causing a hole and an unsustainable environment for the flowers that are grown inside. The Activity Centre grows flowers for the community flowerbeds and gardens, which are now at risk of dying.

Burrowing Owls, an endangered species, are returning to Saskatchewan from their wintering grounds in southern Texas and Mexico. Approximately 64 pairs, of the ground owls, were reported across the Saskatchewan prairies by Operation Burrowing Owl participants. Operation Burrowing Owls records sightings to help determine the population trend and distribution of the Burrowing Owl throughout Saskatchewan.

CONFIRMATION OF Amber REDMAN’S REMAINS
The Regina Historical Case Unit has confirmed the remains located during the search on May 5, 2008 that took place on the Little Black Bear First Nations as those belonging to Amber Tara-Lynn REDMAN, 19 yrs of age from the Standing Buffalo Fist Nations, Saskatchewan.
The Redman family have been notified and are currently planning funeral arrangements.
The two accused are due to return to court on the following dates.
Albert Patrick Bellegarde, 29 years, will appear on May 26, 2008 in Fort Qu’Appelle and Gilbert Allan Bellegarde, 31 years, will appear on May 23, 2008 in Regina.

On May 15, 2008 at 10:30 am, a CP Rail employee found a large black plastic case (Pelican case) in the north ditch along Hwy 39 two (2) miles NW of Lang, Sask. Inside the case were various computer components worth several hundred dollars. The equipment could be related to surveying or oil business. The case has been turned over to the Milestone RCMP. This property can be identified by contacting the Milestone RCMP at 306-436-6250.

On May 17, 2008 Saturday at around 5:00 PM Coronach and Assiniboia RCMP responded to an accident involving a lawn tractor and a three year old boy. The driver of the lawn tractor was a 72 year-old male who was doing work in a vacant lot.
When he got off the lawn tractor he did not see the three year old trying to jump onto the machine. The boy’s lower legs were caught under the blades. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
There are no criminal charges to be laid in this matter.

On May 16, 2008 at approximately 6:30 PM Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP
responded to a stabbing complaint in the town of Fort Qu’Appelle. EMS
attended to a 29 yr old male who was later transported to Regina
Hospital for surgery. Darcy Joseph Fayant is deceased due to the fatal wounds.
Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP have one 23 year old male in custody in relation to this matter. Both males are from Fort Qu’Appelle,Sk.
There were two other victims in this incident who sustained minor injuries, were treated and released from hospital.
Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP are continuing their investigation in regards to the fatal stabbing.
