Mary Racz (nee Meszaros) passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2006 in City Hospital, Saskatoon, Sask. after a short illness at the age of 92 years. The funeral service was held in Parkland Bible Church, Kipling, Sask. on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Diack officiating. Interment in Kipling Town Cemetery. The casket bearers were: Brian Hoyt, John Robert MacNeil, Michael Racz, Darren Walker, Fred Racz and Larry Meszaros.
Mary was born on the homestead south of Kipling, Sask. on February 6, 1914 and lived most of her life in that area. Mary attended Kossuth School which was in the vicinity of Bekevar Church and married Geza Racz, November 30, 1933. For most of her life, Mary belonged to her church ladies auxiliary and did sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening as well as raising five children and helping with the family farm.
Predeceased by her husband Geza Racz, Mary is survived by one brother John Meszaros (Margaret), Kipling, Sk; her children: Irene MacNeil (Robert) Barrie, Ont., Mary Racz Hoyt, Victoria, B.C., Geza Racz (Gertrude), Winnipeg, MB, William Racz (Darilyn), Kingston, Ont. and Vernon Racz (Charlene), Saskatoon, Sk; her grandchildren: John MacNeil (Diane), Winnipeg, MB, Jennifer Young (Scott), Barrie, Ont., Cathy Worthington, Calgary, AB, Brian Hoyt, Lloydminster, AB., Margaret Proven (John), Winnipeg, MB, Carolin Chambers (Jarrett), Winnipeg, MB, Janet Racz George (Michael), Winnipeg, MB, Michael Racz (Shelley Sansome), Queen Charlotte Islands, Douglas Racz (Lori), Ottawa, Ont., Heather Racz, London, Ont., Cheryl Walker (Darren), Saskatoon, Sk, Julie Racz Schuette (Matthew), Buffalo, MN, U.S.A. and Warren Racz, Ottawa, Ont.; seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Meszaros; her mother Magda (nee B. Balogh); brothers: Andrew Meszaros (Louise), Joseph Meszaros (Mary) and James Meszaros and sisters Madge Baczuk (Steve) and Alice Thompson (Alfred).
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wes Banbury of Tubman Cremation and Funeral Services.
