Aaron A. Barsi, Kipling, Sask. died on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the age of 84 years. The funeral mass was celebrated in St. Anne’s R.C. Church, Kipling, Sask. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Joseph Strohhofer. Cremation with interment at a later date.
Aaron was born at his parent’s farm near Kennedy, Sask. on August 24, 1923, the youngest son of twelve children. Aaron began running the family farm at the young age of 16 and continued to farm in the Kennedy area until he retired in 1987. Next to his family, Aaron’s passions were bluegrass music and wood carving. Evidence of this can be seen in the beautiful instruments and carvings that he created and the music that he loved to play. He took great pleasure in gardening and was always proud of the incredible tomatoes he grew. Aaron loved fishing and there weren’t many nice days that passed where you wouldn’t find him and Helen in their boat on Crooked Lake catching the big one. Aaron will be deeply and sadly missed by all who knew him.
Aaron was predeceased by his parents John and Julia Barsi and two twin boys at birth. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Barsi; his sons Ron (Diane) Barsi, Dan Barsi and Clifford (Chip) Barsi; his daughter Cathy (Darcy) Foster and his grandchildren: Nathan, David and Samantha.
The arrangements were entrusted to Michael Rey of Tubman Cremation and Funeral Services.
