The following is the eulogy as given by Allan’s brother Leonard:

Allan was born on April 9th, 1935, one mile north of Glenavon to Frank & Sophie Mish.  He was the 3rd of 6 children.  He attended Glenavon School attaining part of Grade 12.

He told his children stories of cutting ice in the winter and hauling it to town to sell.  This is when the first of many Mish debates began about who worked the hardest on the family farm.  When Elaine told her Dad about our latest debate which happened about 10 days ago, he replied all the boys worked equally hard.

After he finished school Allan held various jobs.  He worked at a locker plant in Regina and also worked for Steve Wawaruk while helping his Dad on the farm.

Allan married Yolande Beauchemin on July 4, 1959.  They started their married life on what is now Jeff’s farm.

After a year on the farm they moved into Glenavon where they ran the hardware store and lumber yard.  Their union produced 5 children, Edward, Gloria, Elaine, Wayne and Linda.

During these years the children remember their Barbecuing in the basement of their home in the middle of winter.  Allan sold Rupps and took pleasure in riding them.  He also kept busy building houses and bins.

Allan enjoyed curling, being a Linesman for hockey games and following the Glenavon Pipers.

The family would take trips to Katepwa Lake where they would stop at Indian Head for ice cream.  Allan would finish his first and threaten to eat the children’s cones.

He played on the local hardball team and always enjoyed the Glenavon Fair.

In 1973, Allan purchased the hotel in Ogema Saskatchewan.  They lived there for 22 months before moving back to farm at Glenavon.

They entertained both family and friends with a pig roast and many social gatherings where he would play, what he called the good music.  He continued to follow the Pipers.  He built a minigolf in the backyard where he would practice his putting.

In 1979, Allan sold the farm and they moved into town.  Even though he said, he was retired, he continued to help family and friends with farming.  He also worked for Batters Construction operating a drag line.

During this time is when Allan really pursued his love of golf.  He has told stories of how he would get to his opponents balls first and step on them so that they would be harder to find.  He would always come home with extra golf balls and mushrooms.  Allan enjoyed getting together with family and friends to play cards.  His door was always open and he always had a drink for anyone who stopped in.  Allan took great interest in the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs.

He and Yolande took trips to various places in Canada and the U.S.

Allan was predeceased by his parents Frank and Sophie Mish and one sister Anne Mish in infancy. He is survived by his loving wife Yolande; two sons Edward Mish, Corning, Sask. and Wayne (Barb) Mish, Glenavon, Sask.; three daughters: Gloria (Brian) Hardy, Grenfell, Sask., Elaine (Myron) Gilewicz, Regina, Sask. and Linda (Doug) Amy, Grenfell, Sask.; ten grandchildren: Jocelyn and Janelle Mish, Jenna, Kimberly and Scott Hardy, Michael (fiance, Chelsey), Adam and Joey Gilewicz and Dustin and Meagan Amy; one great granddaughter Elexis Gilewicz Thomson; four brothers: Joe (Lilian) Mish, and John (Lillian) Mish, all of Glenavon, Sask., Bernie Mish, Calgary, Alta. and Leonard (Marg) Mish, London, Ont. as well as his nieces and nephews and extended family.
