Nicolay (Houle), Mary Yvonne, our dearly loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Thursday Aug. 21, 2008 at the age of 87. Mary was predeceased by her dearly beloved husband Roger in 1971, grandson Dane Jerred in 2005, great grandson Jacob Calnek in 1999, her parents Emma and Narcisse Houle, brothers Arthur and William Houle, and sisters Eva Delaney, Aurore Lambert, Bernadette Larmet, Adele Biesiada, Irene Dionne, Annette Houle, Helen Lamont, Noella Biesiada and Rose Langois. She is survived by her children Georgette (Leigh) Calnek, Manitou Beach SK, Gilbert (Doreen) Nicolay, Regina SK, Andrée (Art) Witham, Etobicoke On, Joseph (Glenna) Nicolay, Etters Beach SK, Marian (Jack) Percy, Vernon B.C., Paul (Sheree) Nicolay, Moose Jaw SK, Paullette (Ken) Biesenthal, Regina SK, Michelle (Kim) Jerred Regina SK, Rock (Margaret) Nicolay, Carlyle SK as well as 25 grandchildren LeRoss (Myrna) Calnek, Milton (Jennifer) Calnek, Trevor (Cindy) Nicolay, Jennifer Nicolay, Lisa Witham, Nicole Witham, Robert Nicolay, Rochelle (Aaron) Werthman, Rene (Kimberly) Nicolay, Rhonda Nicolay, Rebecca Nicolay, Regan Nicolay, Justin (Connie) Percy, Danielle Percy, Kyle Nicolay, Kevin Nicolay, Kenton Nicolay, Dustin Biesenthal, Chad Biesenthal, Amoreena (Bruce) MacEachern, Adam Murray, Pam (Cory Milligan), Joel Nicolay, Morgan Nicolay, Shayna Nicolay and seven great grandchildren Caleb and Ben Calnek, Halle Calnek, Jonathon Percy, Sienna Percy, Naomi and Ryder Milligan. Mary was born Nov. 12, 1920, on the family farm at Broadview Sk. She married Roger Nicolay in 1943 and settled on a farm in the Kipling/Kennedy area. She moved to Kipling in 1972 and to Regina in 1984.


Viewing at 6:30 PM followed by prayers at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Holy Cross R.C. Church, 315 Douglas Ave East, Regina. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 4 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Kennedy, SK at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Ann’s Parish Cemetery, Kennedy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 2nd Ave, Regina, S4R1A6 or Canadian Diabetes Association Southern Saskatchewan, 917 Albert St, Regina, S4R2P6.
