Evan John Richards, Wolseley, Sask. and formerly of Peebles, Sask. died on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the age of 96 years. A family graveside service was held in the Glenavon Cemetery, Glenavon, Sask. on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with Lynette Callfas officiating.
Evan was born on October 19, 1911 at Peebles where he lived most of his life. He attended school at Beston and Peebles and then went to farming. He loved being a farmer and had an interest in farming up until the time of his death. Evan loved music, singing, playing cards, telling stories, playing ball, curling and other sports. He was very community minded, a very devoted husband and father and never met an ice cream that he didn’t like.
Evan was predeceased by his wife Beth Richards; brother Ben Richards and parents Tom and Margaret Richards. He is survived by his son Bill (Fay) and family Collin and his family: Andrew, Megan and Sasha, Angie (Frank) Busch and special friend Maria Johnston
The cremation arrangements were entrusted to Wes Banbury of Tubman Cremation and Funeral Services.
